funny how, when i was in college studying english literature, i never ever felt the need to write as compulsively about the many aspects of a piece of work as i have while watching iss pyaar ko. it was as though all my reluctance to spend hours and hours over characterization, plot construction, endless critical estimates had been noted by some unknown unseen power and due punishment had been designed for the student who didn't want to take copious notes on leviathan or analyse every word of the opening scene of some thick dense hardy novel, or stalk libraries in search of insights into the preraphaelites; that fake literature undergrad who didn't pine for shakespeare or sophocles.

took the power some time to create the ultimate penalty. the best things in life need that passage of wind water earth fire... sunsets sunrises seasons, everything perfects. and finally after almost thirty one years the punishment was ready. 

it could, of course, only be one thing... pyaar. that too iss, this particular pyaar, the one one must wonder deeply what to name. an ajeeb, strange, sort of love, but in it that banishment forever, hamesha. 

go to the television, said the power, and there ye shall be stuck for all eternity, looking into each and every aspect of this hindi serial (so you turned your nose up at high literature huh), especially a pair of brown glinting orbs (as in eyes), and ye shall sigh and submit, ye shall stay up night and day, and ye shall strive, search, look, relook, re-relook, learn many new things, join forums in your foray to get to know all you can, ye shall pine, stalk, analyse, estimate, internalise, and write write write dammit.
